I just wanted to wish you all a very happy New Year and I hope 2013 brings you all that you wish for!

You may have noticed a lack of BBB last week. I decided to take a bit of a break over the Christmas holidays. This Wednesday (Jan 2) is also a non-show. But Leoni and I are doing a show together on Saturday 5th (not Friday) called the Saturday Silliness; that will be my return on SLAY Radio with the lovely Leoni.  After that, the BBB will be back every Wednesday as usual!

Ello!

I just wanted to apologize for the BozFade™ at the end of last night's show. Once again I lost internet connection.

Those of you who have been listening for a while will know that this has been a long-lasting problem. Empower - the cable contractor - replaced the cables in our street last week which I hoped would solve all my problems. But guess what? It didn't!

Which means I have a crappy modem of course, so I'm going to persue this problem further with my provder (All Hail Tele2!) and either get a new modem or just buy my own that WORKS FFS!

Anyway, sorry about that and I'll be back next week, one way or another!

The Fart Simulator is Back!

There's been a number of requests for this, but it's taken me a while to find it. Finally I found a backup disc with it...  so FAF1SS ("Fart Along with Formula One Simulator" Simulator) is back!

For those of you who don't know, this program dates back to the infamous broadcast of The Z Show when Marcel "Sidologie" Donné asked us to play one of his songs with very childish (and highly amusing) fart sounds over it. We chose his "Formula One Simulator" and the rest, as they say, is history.

Straight after the show, DJ Skitz said to me, "you ought to make an app that allows others to do the same thing!"

So, I did!

The result was FAF1SS and is a Windows-only app. It's verified to work on Windows XP (that's all I have here), it SHOULD work on Windows 7 (32-bit) but please give me some feedback about this.

There is not a Mac version and there probably won't be, as I've lost the source code and I doubt if there's many Mac users who will find a use for it ;) (You can use VirtualBox of course, which is what I did to test it.)

Emergency over - while I've been at work the problem has sorted itself out. Must have been some localized problem, even though Tele2 didn't know about it (the cables are owned by Telia though, so they might have sorted it themselves).

Heads-up of Potential Cancellation

Ello!

After all of this excitement about this being my 8-year anniversary tonight, I woke up to find that my modem was completely disconnected. I'm at work today so I can't do very much work with Customer Support, suffice to say that I have contacted them and there's no known disturbance in my area.

I'm going to rush back home as soon as I can this evening and try and get connected - but I wanted to warn you guys that I may have to delay or cancel the show tonight. I will reschedule it to the closest day up to Sunday; failing that we will have to have a delayed celebration on the next Wednesday.

Talk about bad timing... :(   Fingers crossed / Håll tummarna!

BBB Celebrates 8 Years This Week

Well, I wouldn't have believed it myself had I not kept a record of the date, but this Wednesday's show celebrates the fact that I've been broadcasting the BBB for 8 years.

Originally called the "Bowness Bit o' Bollocks" with an hilarious play on my surname to sound like "Bonus", it reflected that it was a bonus to The Z Show which Kenz and I were broadcasting every Sunday at the time. It wasn't as regular as once a week back then (gaps of two to four weeks occurred) and there was actually a show called "Surprise Show" that was broadcast a month before; but 3rd November 2004 saw the first show that became simply the BBB when I moved over to Sweden in June 2005.

In order to thank you listeners (some of you have even been with me since the start), I wanted to celebrate the fact with a special show this week. "Special" in that it probably won't be very much different to any other BBB but perhaps with a little more... well, shall we say "unstructured brain patterns" to it.

This show also happens to fall on Hallowe'en, so I expect that some of the requests will reflect this (I will only play so many versions of Cauldron 1 and 2 though!).

So, come joing me and celebrate eight years of utter nonsense. I guarantee the nonsense has not dimished in any way.

 

Friday Frolics Cancelled 2012-10-05

Eh up,

Sorry to say that the Friday Frolics has been cancelled this week. There's lots of bugs going around and Leoni's picked up a nasty stomach flu, while Boz is combating a weird virus that's left him sleepier than Sleepy McSleepison from Sleepington in Sleepyland.

Still one show to go this week. Everyone keep quiet and don't jinx it! ;)

BBB Cancelled 2012-10-03

Heyo!

Unfortunately I'm going to have to go ahead and cancel this Wednesday's show, due to Real Life creeping into my Happy Life ;)

But fear not! You're going to have a double-dose of me this week in one way or another: on Friday Leoni and I are broadcasting another Friday Frolics, which is "interesting" in the Chinese sense of the word. And then on Sunday.... yes, he's back!  Reyn is here to broadcast a Sunday Service and I'll be his monkey as usual!

So I'll see you in a couple days for a Frolic or two... sorry I can't get you through the Taint of the Week though...

BBB Cancelled 2012-09-19

Ello!

Yep, another cancelled show due to Deadly Man Flu™.  I came back from a conference in Portugal, and in all that heat, I got a cold. That's how I roll.

So there's no show tonight I'm afraid - sorry! I should be back as normal next week though.

Pet Hates!

Everyone has their own Pet Hates in life - you know, little niggly things that just really rub you the wrong way.

What I want to do is get a compilation of listeners' pet hates, maybe even build up a Pet Hate League Table and see if there's any common hates out there.

So, of course, I need your help!

If you can jot down a list of your pet hates (minumum 5, ideally 10) and send them to me at bbb@bozretro.com, I'll start reading them out on the next show and make a table out of them.

So, get your list in ASAP!

 

BBB TONIGHT (Tuesday 2012-07-03)

Ello!

This week is slightly changed on the SLAY Radio live roster. We've had Auntie Anna on Monday, but BBB for this week is on tonight (Tuesday). This is mainly because I'm finishing my vacation on Wednesday, so I wanted to do it on a night where I don't have to worry about going back to work.

Gazoo and Mr. Andersson are going to do on Wednesday instead - appropriately titled "GGG", so you'll have something to listen to on the Mid-Week Hump as well!

So, if you're around, have a listen to me prattling on about nothing in particular tonight.

Ello!

Because Wednesday is Sweden's National Day and your favorite(?) broadcaster wants to wave a little flag to show his allegiance to the country he's moved to, the BBB this week is on Tuesday. Same time though - 20:00 CEST (19:00 BST, 18:00 UTC).

Hope to see you there - and I hope the change of day doesn't rip the fabric of spacetime or something!

Next Show (2012-04-18) Cancelled

Ello,

Just to inform you guys that this Wednesday's show (for 18th April) is cancelled, the reason being that I have gotten DEADLY MAN FLU™ so I'm just a big blobby mess on the sofa.

All being well it will have cleared up by next week and I'll be back as usual!

New Website Launched

Ahoy!

In preparation for Wednesday's BBB (which also happens to be the first leap-day that the BBB has transmitted on), I have started on a new site design.

The old site was programatically fun to work on, but was nigh-on impossble to maintain - in fact, I hadn't done anything to it for at least 18 months. I have mentioned that the BBB is going back to the "old style" - using the previous intros and going into the first request; in fact, the flow of the show itself is going to change just a little bit over the next few months. The first section (On This Day) is something that you seem to like but it was getting rather lengthy, so I've broken it up into segments. Ironically I've chosen February 29 as the first time to try this, which is difficult because it only happens once every four years (ish). But it's a good place to start!

The site itself is the "bare minimum" that I wanted to deliver. It is, however, a lot easier for me to "plug in" more content when needed and I hope to make it grow as we go along.

Gone also is the choice you had on first visit - going to to the "new look" or keeping the old style. This was because the "old" new site relied on a couple of HTML5-only attributes. Because browsers have updated since and I'm not using HTML5-exclusivity any more, both sites have been resigned and now there's only the one site for me to worry about.

BBB Cancelled 2012-01-11

Ello!

Sorry to say that this Wednesday's BBB is cancelled. Real Life stuff - we're renovating several rooms in the house so I will be either busy or tired after a few days' work!

All being well I will be back as normal next week.
